COPD Clinical Features

• Clinical Features of COPD:

  • Productive cough - only associated with chronic bronchitis
  • Wheeze
  • Dyspnoea - shortness of breath
  • Decreased exercise tolerance / functional ability
  • History of recurrent chest infections
  • History of smoking
• Clinical features of COPD:

  • During Auscultation:
  • decreased breath sounds (emphysema)
  • crackles (chronic bronchitis)
  • wheeze
  • Hyperinflated chest
