Aims & Hypotheses

Cards (4)

  • An aim should begin with "to investigate..." and outline the behaviour that is being researched.
  • A one tailed hypothesis includes exactly what the difference will be - e.g. there will be a significant increase of ... in the ... category.
A two tailed hypothesis is less specific - e.g. there will be a significant difference.
  • A hypothesis is a testable statement of research
  • When writing a hypothesis it should include operationalised variables.
To operationalise a variable we show clearly how it will be measured - e.g. rating on a scale of 1 to 10.
