process of labelling

• A person of high status ( a moral entrepreneur) creates a label based on the belief that a person will act a certain way.
• The moral entrepreneur ( and likely others) treat the person in a specific way based on their label.
• • The labelled person then begins to believe that the label is true, and it becomes part of their identity- their master status.
• • The label then becomes true, even if it was entirely false in the beginning. This is called a ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’.
