A person of
high status
( a
moral entrepreneur
) creates a
label
based on the
belief
that a
person
will
act
a
certain way.
The
moral entrepreneur
( and likely others)
treat
the
person
in a
specific way
based on their
label.
The
labelled
person then begins to
believe
that the
label
is
true
, and it becomes part of their
identity-
their
master status.
The
label
then becomes
true
, even if it was
entirely false
in the
beginning.
This is called a
‘self-fulfilling prophecy’.
