  know as al qadr and is the idea that god knows or determines everything that will happen in the universe but humans have the free will to their choices

  every person is free to choose how they act but there are some things that are predetermined and unchangeable. God knows the outcomes of free choices.

  Despite Allah being transcendent and therefore not completely knowable, both Sunni and Shi'a Islam consider divine control and human freedom to be completely compatible
