Electrical fields

• Electrical field - a region in which another charged object feels a force
• Electrical fields:

  • greater charge = greater force
  • closer together = greater force
  • electrostatic force (attraction or repulsion)
  • non-contact force
• Attraction or Repulsion (electrical fields):

  • Positive + Positive = Repulsion
  • Negative + Positive = Attraction
  • Negative + Negative = Repulsion
• Electrical fields:

  • positive = away
  • negative = towards
  • closer field lines means electric field is strong
  • far part field lines means electric field is weak
