Nuts and bolts - a hole would be drilled in each piece of plastic and the bolt fed through the hole. The nut is then tightened onto the bolt to hold the metal together.
Screws – often used to attach plastic to other types of material such as wood
Welding - some thermoplastics can be welded together in a process similar to that of welding metal
Riveting - a hole is drilled in the two pieces of plastic to be joined, a rivet is placed in the hole and a hammer is used to ‘flatten’ the rivet into the hole.
Adhesives – examples that can be used with plastics include epoxy resin, super glue, acrylic cement
