Calorimetry

• Energy in Food = Mass of Water X Temperature Change (Water)
• Energy per gram of Food = Energy in Food / Mass of Food
• Calorimetry measures how much energy is in food by burning it.
• During calorimetry tests, to minimise the amount of energy transferred to the environment the boiling tube should be insulated.
