Fungi

• ●      Usually multicellular………..except Yeast!
• ●      They have a mycelium of hyphae made from

  thread-like structures (root like)
• ·        they have cell walls made of chitin;
• ·        they feed by saprotrophic nutrition;  release of digestive enzymes, break down food material, and then reabsorb
• ·        they store carbohydrate as glycogen.
• ●      Some cause disease – these are pathogens

  eg Yeast which is single-celled and makes beer and bread.
