Bacteria

• ●      microscopic single-celled organisms;
• ●      NO NUCLEUS; but contain a chromosome of DNA;
• ●      they have a cell wall, ( but not made of cellulose like a plant cell wall)
• ●      they have plasmids ( extra rings of DNA);
• ●      some bacteria can carry out photosynthesis but most feed off other living or dead organisms.

  Eg Lactobacillus bulgaricus, a rod-shaped bacterium used in the production of yoghurt from milk
