Diagnosis can be made without imaging:

joint pain
and
No
early morning stiffness (
EMS
) or
EMS
less
than
30 minutes
If patient has
history
of
trauma
,
prolonged EMS
,
rapid worsening
of
symptoms
or a
hot swollen joint
→ consider
