  • Scalar has magnitude e.g mass and speed
  • Vector has magnitude and direction e.g weight, velocity and force
  • What is mass?
Its how many particles there are in your body, it is measured in kilograms
  • What is weight?
its the force of gravity on your bodies mass, its measured in newtons
  • What is work done?
    The amount of energy transferred
  • What is power?
the rate at which work is done
  • What is the conservation of energy?
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred or transformed from one form to another. Energy is wasted in the form of thermal/heat and transferred to the surroundings, causing the temperature of the surroundings to go up
  • What is resultant force?
The sum of all the forces. Balanced forces have a resultant force of zero and will either be stationary or move at a constant velocity, Unbalanced forces will accelerate in the direction of the bigger force
  • What does a free body diagram show?
all the forces acting on an object. The size of the arrow shows the relative magnitudes and the direction shows the direction of the force
  • What is the Hooke's Law?
It is extension that is directly proportional to force
  • What is uniform acceleration mean?
    At a constant acceleration
