Using scale drawings to find resultant force

Cards (4)

  • Why do we use scale drawings to find resultant force?
We can use parallelograms to calculate resultant forces.
  • How do you calculate resultant force using scale drawings?
You just need to make the rest of the parallelogram. You'll need a compass, a protractor, a ruler and a sharp pencil
  • What is an object in if the forces are balanced?
    In equilibrium
  • How can you tell an object is in equilibrium on a scale diagram?
The tip of the last force you draw should end with the tail of the first force you drew. E.g For 3 forces, the scale diagram will form a triangle
