    • Valuable source of hypotheses for further researcher
    • Information from one case can be used to explore other similar cases
  • Limitations of case studies
    • Time-consuming to undertake
    • Difficult to generalise findings from one person to the broader community
    • Sample size - usually based on one person and therefore difficult to generalise the results
    • Biased information from participants and researcher
