• Standard deviation = standard error
• Given a degree of probability = we can calculate the range within which we expect to find our sample mean
• Sample mean = estimate as it's an estimator of the population mean
• Point estimator = draws inference about a population by estimating the value of an unknown parameter using a single value or point
• Interval estimator = draws inference about a population by estimating the value of an unknown parameter using an interval
