• They burn more coal than USA, Europe and Japan combined - due to their manufacturing industry
• China Government passes legislastion in 2006 called China renewable law to develop renewable energy resources
• In 2014, Three Gorges Dam generated 98.8 billion kWh of electricity - this is equal to combusting 49 million tonnes of coal
• China is now leading solar power producer - 887 GW installed
• Solar plant being built in Gobi Desert is estimated to produce more energy for about 1 million homes
• China now has coal restrictions - In 2015, the Government involved laws restricting the use of heavily polluting coal in urban areas
