CELL COMPONENTS

Cards (9)

  • The cell structure is composed of these components:
    1. Cell Wall
    2. Cell Membrane
    3. Cytoplasm
    4. Nucleus
    5. Cell Organelles
  • It is the outer covering of all cell that supports and protects the cell by controlling the movement of substances in and out of the cells.
    Cell Membrane
  • Cell/Plasma membrane is also called...
    Differentially Permeable Membrane
  • It is a rigid and stiff structure surrounding the cell membrane, that provides shape and support to the cell and protects from mechanical shocks and injuries.
    Cell Wall
  • It is a thick, clear, jelly-like substance present inside the cell membrane, in which all of the organelles in eukaryotic cells are located; it is where almost all processes happen.
    Cytoplasm
  • It is the fluid that fills the inside of the cell membrane; a part of cytoplasm; and is also referred to as "soup," home of the cytoskeleton and contains dissolved nutrients.
    Cytosol
  • It is known as the control center of the cells as it contains the material called gene (made up of DNA) which controls all activities of the cell and its characteristics.
    Nucleus
  • It is the brain of the cell and contains the hereditary material of the cell (DNA), that sends signals to the cell to grow, mature, divide, and die.
    Nucleus
  • These are microscopic hair-like structures involved in the locomotion of a cell. Its main function is to assist the cell in movement.
