  • What is the method of the Hooke's Law?
    1. Measure starting length of spring using a ruler when no load is applied.
    2. Add a marker at the bottom of the spring to make reading more accurate
    3. Add a mass to spring, allow it to come to rest and measure the new length
    4. Calculate the extension(change in length)
    5. Repeat until you have at least 6 measurements
    6. Remember to use the same spring made of the same material if you repeat or compare readings
