• The music becomes more virtuosic and frantic, then Haydn suddenly cuts it off with a bar of silence
• In bar 25 there is an unusual pause on the subdominant C major chord, with a D# chromatic passing note
• When the material returns in the recapitulation

  Haydn stretches out the chromaticism over several bars, modulating to the remote key of D-flat major
