  • supported employment - adults w learning disabilities to get supported employment depending on level of capabilities
  • zero contract hours - a work arrangement with no set hours
    employee is called to work if & when needed
    they aren’t obligated to give you work and you don’t have to either
  • self employment - no regular wage, only get paid when work is completed
  • retirement pension - when young, earn money & get paid once a month, some goes into a pension saving scheme
    government add it so when retired, we earn back monthly
  • retirement planning - others haven’t planned & find a sudden drop in income from when they were working impacting on them financially
  • redundancy - when a persons employed but then there’s no need for them anymore or company goes bankrupt as in debt
    can be positive bc a better job may be found w more pay
  • financial resources - the money & possessions you have to pay for daily living, making savings & doing leisure activities
  • savings - each month the majority of people saving some money which is included in expenditure, this’ll build up & may be saved until retirement, big cost holidays, cars or houses
  • investments grow - this could be where people by shares in a company then own/part own it and get profits or ISA

  • heart disease risks
    not getting enough physical activity can lead to heart disease - even if there are no other risk factors
    can increase likelyhood of developing other heart disease risk factors such as obesity, high blood pressure, high blood cholestrol & type 2 diabetes

    tend to associate lack of exercise w a weight problem to be weaker, as these aren’t exercised enough, however, there are so many other issues
    repeated actions or faint issues as these aren't used and may have excess weight on knees w skeletal problems

    when exercising, the body releases chemicals called endorphins (happy chemicals).
    endorphins trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to the drug morphine
  • stamina exercise
    to improve stamina (ability to ‘keep going’) you need to do aerobic or cardiovascular exercise. this is the type that helps your heart. 30m walking / day can lower bad cholestrol
  • housing - accommodation you live in

    conflict, abuse & neglect - parent conflict, physical / emotional abuse, neglect of basic needs e.g. food & clothes

  • alcoholic drinks contain the chemical ethanol

  • health risks of alcohol
    addictive - not just binge drinking
    any amount of alcohol can increase risk of cancer
    alters brain chemicals, stopping it from functioning as it should
    impaired judgement & increased bad coordination
  • men & women should have no more than 14 units a week
