  • A proposal should provide a logical presentation of an idea.
  • A purposive document should;
    • Identify what work needs to be done.
    • Explain why the work is needs to be done.
    • Persuade the audience that you are qualified of implementing it.
  • A reaction paper is a response to a prompt requiring thoughtful reading, analyzing, research, and writing.
  • A reaction paper should be/include;
    • something you have read
    • Organized - follows a structure
    • Citation and references - provide claims from experts
    • Well-supported opinions - backed-up with evidences.
    • A judgment, analysis, or evaluation
  • Topic sentence is the main idea of the paragraph and it is usually the first sentence of the paragraph.
  • transform outline from the topic sentence into actual compositions.
  • Free-writing includes writing without stopping to think about what you are writing.
  • Active reading is needed in creating a reaction paper to easily pin-point ideas you think needs improvement or emphasis.
  • Critique papers and reaction papers more or less have the same format and content since both of them evaluate someone else’s work, but critique papers can only be written by professionals; so, the ‘recommendation for improvement’ part is given high regards. Unlike reaction papers that cn be written by anyone.
  • Reviews evaluates items and activities like books, movies, plays, and musics from writer’s POV.
  • Advertisements are paid announcements convincing people to buy or do something.
  • Editorials are important/professional people in-charged or making persuasive writings in editorial companies.
  • Op-ed are subject matter experts who convinces readers to agree with the writer’s views on an issue
  • The parts of an argumentative or pursuasive essay are;
    1. Title - the”catch” or attention getter.
    2. Intro - “establishes” the essay.
    3. Body - “justify” the argument.
    4. Conclusion - “summary” or final say
