  • - evaluate the ergonomics on your workspace, is your chair ergonomically correct in terms of height, tilt and back support

    • The sewing area should be well-lighted

  • Sewing safety rule and guidelines
    Pre-operational safety
    • Check the sewing machine and it's cord are in good working order.
    • Check all the adjustments and settings carefully before commencing any swing operation.
    • The workspace should be CLEAN AND free from all rubbish and obstacles
  • OPERATING SEWING PRECAUTIONS
    • only one person is to operate the sewing machine at any time
    • Do not touch the sewing machine while the other person is sewing.
    • Do not wear loose clothing, specially long sleeves and neckties.
    • Turn the power off when making adjustments to the sewing machine such as changing the presser foot and needle.
    • Starts and run the sewing machine slowly and evenly
    • Take care not to sewn over the pin. Remove the pins before it is pinned before it is pulled under the presser foot.
    • make sure the take up lever is raised before pulling out
    • Keep the sewing machine free from lint
    • Do not pull or push fabric while sewing.
    • Keel your hands at the side of the presser foot not in front.
