  • The Ascension of Jesus: Acts 1:6 - 12
  • CFC 648-649 - An integral part of Christ's paschal Mytery is His Ascension. The meaning of being raised or "lifted" is Christ's exaltation, sovereign authority, and power over creation and all history.
  • When it was time for Jesus to go back to the Father, he instructed His disciples to go to Mt. Olives.
  • The Ascension - an event which is believed to have occurred forty days after Jesus' Resurrection.
  • Holy Spirit - who will inspire the disciple the disciples to fulfill the mission that Jesus gave them before He left and for them to be His witnesses.

  • Apostle Paul - He emphasizes God exalting Jesus above all others by having Him sit His right hand of the Father. (wrote to the Philippians)
  • God's Hand - refers to the Messiah to whom is given power and authority to subdue His enemies.
  • CCC 662 - The Lifting up of Jesus on the cross signifies and announces His lifting of the glory that Jesus promised to us.
  • Abba - means Father
