Required practicals (practical skills)

• calibrate pH probe :

  • use buffer solutions of a know pH
  • use a pipette to place a volume of each buffer solution into a beaker
  • rinse pH probe with distilled water
  • place probe in buffer solution
  • wait for reading to stabilise
  • and record pH reading
  • rinse probe and repeat with other standard solutions
  • plot on graph (y-axis = pH of buffer solution and X-axis recoded pH reading)
