A Delta is a fan shaped area of land found in the mouth of the river. When a river reaches the sea it slows down and then loses it’s power to carry Load. The Load is then dropped at the mouth of the River. Some rivers drop load so fast that the waves and tides can’t carry this forms a delta. The load Deposited builds up overtime at the mouth of the river. The river then breaks through the delta in small channels this is called distributaries.
