Filipino Social Environment is characterized by depending on one another to survive.

The Filipinos are product of blending race and culture of eastern and western inhabitants.
Jocano (2002 and 2001) pointed out that these colonizers had developed some dimensions in Filipino culture in terms of religious, social, economic and political systems.
INDIAN - Superstitious Beliefs
MALAY - Hospitality and sensitivity to harsh words, not frank, superiority, and adjusting.
CHINESE - On being fond of eating noodles piety, frugality, submission to parents, patience, and perseverance.

F. LANDA JOCANO identified two models of the Filipino Values System.
EXOGENOUS OR FOREIGNMODEL - Legal and formal model. Inherited by Filipinos from western cultures, particularly from the Spaniards and the Americans.
Indigenous or Traditional Model - Traditional and non-formal model. Deeply embedded in the Filipino subconscious.

VALUES - These are the motive behind purposeful action. they are the ends to which we act and come in many forms.
Cultural values are values accepted by religions or societies and reflect what is important in eah context.
BAYANIHAN SYSTEM - It is a Filipino community spirit and cooperation wherein a group of individuals extends a helping hand without expecting any remuneration.
DAMAYAN SYSTEM - A word that means "to give sympathetic support" and to "extend or express sympathy.
FAMILISM - This means giving highest importance to family above other things.
Fun loving trait - It is a trait found in most Filipinos, a unique trait that even in many times of calamities or any challenges in their life, they always have something to be happy about, a reason to celebrate.
Hospitality - It is a trait of being receptive and generous to guest.
Friendly - The act of being a sincere, loyal, kind, and person.
FLEXIBLE - It is the ability to ride on or adjust to the thenoms of other group to attain smooth and harmonious relationship.
Religious - Filipinos posses strong conformance of their religious belief in action and in words.
RESPECT FOR ELDERS - The act of being corteous both in words and actions to other people.
Remedyo attitude - Being creative and resourceful
Matiyaga - Tenacity and strong determination in every undertaking.
UTANG NA LOOB - It is a feeling of obligation to repay someone who extend assistance to another which may take place in undetermined time and in whatever way.
Bahala na attitude - This means retreating or withdrawal from certain undertaking and leaving everything to God to interfere and determine the outcome of his deeds
COLONIAL COMPLEX - Showing high admiration and preference to foreign produce goods over local ones.
Crab mentality - An attempt to “pull down” someone to achieve success beyond the others done by jealousy and insecurity.
Euphemism - It refers to substituting a word or phrase that is thought to be offensive or harsh with a mild and acceptable one in order not to offend or hurt another person.
