Threats to the Ecosystem

• Natural Hazards - are threats in the environment that can have a negative impact on human.
• Red Tides - is also called blooms are natural phenomena, red tides are caused by the explosive population growth of a minute, single celled group of algae called dinoflagellates.
• Deforestation - a temporary or permanent clearance of large expanse of forests to meet the demands of increasing human population.
• Damaging effects of Deforestation:

  • Soil Erosion

  • Flooding and Mudslides

  • Desertification
• Desertification - the destruction of land leading to desertlike conditions.
