  • Eating disorder is an illness that causes severe disturbances to your everyday eating habits.
  • Anorexia nervosa is characterized by self-starvation and excessive weight loss. People who have this condition may see themselves as overweight even if they are dangerously underweight.
  • The most common eating disorders are Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and Binge-eating disorder (BED).
  • Bulimia nervosa is characterized by recurrent episodes of binge eating followed by compensatory behaviors such as purging, fasting, or excessive exercise.
