  • This can involve working with schools to educate young people and giving people advice on making their homes secure from burglary.
  • Police forces also make risk and threat assessments to predict where crime might occur so that they can better plan how to tackle it.
  • Police Community Support Officers have a particular focus on crime prevention. For example, they work on stopping anti-social behaviour and reducing the fear of crime. They can confiscate alcohol and remove abandoned vehicles.
