• Cutting tools:

  1. shears - has a vent handle and blade. Small opening

  3. seam ripper - curved blade used to remove unwanted stitches

  1. tracing wheel - used to transfer markings
  2. tailors chalk - hard chalk for temporary marks
  3. dressmaker's carbon paper - transferring construction marks

• 1. yardstick - can be made out of hard wood or metal (hemlines)
• 1. see through ruler - marking straight edges and parallel lines
• 1. seam gauge - small ruler 6" with sliding marker
• 1. hem guide - measuring straight and curved seams and hems
