    the fine arts (painting and sculpture) were just as important as the decorative arts. Vases, lamps, and other furniture were often the most innovative pieces of art in the Art Nouveau style.
    The ornamental style was popular in Europe and the United States from about 1890 to 1910. The use of a long, sinuous, organic line is what makes Art Nouveau distinctive.
