• How/why did the campaign start?

  • Inquest campaign began as a result of state-related deaths.

  • The Grenfell Fire Inquest
  • The Hillsborough Stadium tragedy 1989
  • 2011 London riots
• Who was involved and what did they do?

  • Social media
  • Website with blogs and articles linked to unfair deaths in prison/police custody
  • Help from media (newspapers) and polticians to spread awareness.
• How did it affect laws?

  • Extend the Corporate Manslaughter Act (2007) - only used to apply to businesses to include the police
  • Continue to campaign a 'Hillsborough Law' which states that it is a crime for police to cover up misconduct/police failings.
