  • Lenin immediately set out a political programmed called his "April Theses".
  • Lenin called for
    • An immediate end to the war.
    • No co-operation with the PG.
    • The transfer of all state power to the Soveits.
    • Land to be given to the peasants.
    • The socialisation of the economy.
  • The points of the April Theses were effectively communication in Bolshevik propaganda through simple slogans such as:
    • "All Power to the Soviets"
    • "End the War"
    • "Peace, Land, Bread"
  • The April Theses and its slogans was an offer to ordinary Russian people that would lead to an improvement to their lives.
  • Lenin's vision was of a second revolution led by a hardcore group of professional revolutionaries on behalf of the people.
    • This was the vision he had in his 1902 pamphlet, "What is to be done?"
