He learned the art of making the traditional hat called kattukong or tabungaw at the age of 15 from his grandfather.
He learn how to play from his uncle at the age of 13. At the age of 35 he become the most acclaimed kutyapi master and teacher in Libutan and other Barangays of Maganoy town.
He was a popular barber in his community and serve as an imam in the Libutan Mosque.
