• The Valley of Mexico has plentiful supplies of water, fertile soil, lots of wild animal. This attracted the earliest settlers more than 10000 years ago.
• Tenochtitlan was built in the middle of the lake because of a message from the Sun god, who told them to build a city where they see an eagle eating a snake while standing on a cactus.
• The Aztecs empire was established in less than a century and covered thirty-eight provinces.
• Tenochtitlan was known as the city of cactus.
