ALL ABOUT REFLECTION (LAW & SUCH...

Cards (6)

  • Reflection: is the bouncing of light once it reaches a surface without absorbing it
  • TERMS USED IN REFLECTION ARE:
    • Incident ray is the ray of light that hits the surface/boundary
    • Refracted ray is the one that bounces back
    • Normal line is perpendicular to the reflecting surface
    • Angle of incidence and angle of reflection are the angles formed by the two rays respectively with normal line.
  • Law of reflection states two:
    1. angle of incidence and angle of reflection lies on the same plate.
    2. angle of incidence and angle of reflection are equal.
    A) angle of reflection
    B) reflected ray
    C) i=r
    D) angle of incidence
    E) incident ray
    F) normal line
    • Specular/regular reflection occurs when light strikes a smooth surface.
    • Diffuse/irregular reflection occurs when light strikes a rough surface
  • PARTICLE NATURE OF LIGHT
light is considered as a wave since it's a part of electromagnetic wave. however, when light strike a metal, photoelectric effect happens known as the emission of electrons.
  • PARTICLE NATURE OF LIGHT
    • Scientist said that light is made up of photons, relating to reflection and refraction of light
