• Opera


  A performing art in which singers and musicians do a dramatic work combining libretto, or text and musical score or sheet music in a theatrical setting
• The first Philippine opera in the Tagalog language is Sandugong Panaguinip who was composed by Ladislao Bonus who is dubbed as the "Father of Philippine Opera"
• Sandugong Panaguinip is a one-act opera with five scenes based on La Alianza Soñada, a Spanish libretto by Pedro Paterno. This was translated into Tagalog by Jin Roman G. Reyes, a dramatist and novelist
• La Loba Negra by Francisco Feliciano showcases the pasyon in the introductory part
• Noli Me Tangere, the Opera, is a tale of intrigue, love, and nationalism with Philippine setting, during the time of Spanish colonial rule
• Noli Me Tangere is the first novel of Rizal
• Noli Me Tangere is regarded as the first full-length Filipino opera composed in the Western operatic tradition
• In the late 1950's, Felipe Padilla de Leon, a young Philippine composer, attempted a full-length opera as an adaptation of the Noli
• El Filibusterismo, the Opera was not a usual play and not a normal act that the actors and actresses must play the role assigned to them and say their lines according to the script. They need to execute a dramatic work combining musical score and text or libretto
• Ballet


  A type of performance dance that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of 15th century
• Ballet requires years of training to learn and master, and much practice to retain proficiency
• Ballet may also refer to a ballet dance work which consists of the choreography and music for a ballet production
• "The Nutcracker" is a two-act ballet that was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a music score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
• Contemporary ballet


  A form of dance that combines elements of both classical ballet and modern dance
