  • Dry measuring cup method ( for soft fat) 1. Pack fat into a dry measuring cup. 2 level off
  • Water displacement Method ( for hard fat) 1. Using a liquid measuring cup, subtract 250mL of the amount of shortening you want to measure.( eg. if you want to measure 50mL fat, you have 200ml left) fill your cup with this amount of cold water. 2. Add fat until the water level reaches 250mL. 3. Drain of water, leaving you with 50mL fat.
