  • region 2 is considered as the "Last Frontier" of the Philippines
  • Batanes known for its scenic waters and terrain and clean environment. It is also recognized for the unique culture of the islands' first settlers, the Ivatans.
  • Cagayan is one of the early provinces that existed during the Spanish colonial period. Also Called La Provincia de Cagayan, its borders essentially covered the entire Cagayan Valley, which included the present provinces of Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Batanes and portions of Kalinga, Apayao, and Aurora.
  • Isabela is the second largest province in the Philippines in land area located in the Cagayan Valley. Is the 9th richest province in the Philippines as of 2021. "Rice Granary of Northern Luzon." And "Corn Capital of the Philippines."

  • Quirino is the youngest Province in Cagayan Valley Region. The province is dubbed the "Forest Heartland of Cagayan".
  • Dipnaysuhuan Japanese Tunnel Is an underwater tunnel network in the Philippines, Tukon Hills, Basque Country. ➢ During the Japanese occupancy of the Philippines until World War II, it served as a shelter for the imperial Japanese forces
  • Mount Carmel Chapel also known as Tukon Church, was first established on May 3, 2008, at Sitio Tukon, Barangay Chanarian, Batanes.
    ➢ It adopted the design of a traditional Ivatan house made of stone walls, making it the only chapel embodying such design.
  • House of Dakay is the oldest stone house existing in Batanes and considered as a UNESCO Heritage Building. Located in the town of San Jose de Ivana in Batan Island, the structure has remained intact over the years.
  • Diura Fishing Village traces its roots back to 1720 A.D.

  • Tateg is also a salagubang in their larvae stage (white grub). It may look grubby like a caterpillar but this one was pleasantly tasty, so similar to a chicharon
  • Abal-Abal is bugs that is collected just after they come out from the ground which are commonly on farm lots then cleaned wherein its wings & legs are removed and then stir fried or whatever way you liked it cooked.
  • Binallay is a delicious traditional delicacy that is made of sticky rice flour and coconut milk, this sweet sticky rice cake is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked to perfection in boiling water and served with latik sauce.
  • Moriecos is This rice cake (kakanin in Tagalog) is stuffed with latik or caramelized young coconut, steamed and wrapped in fresh banana leaf.
  • Aling Belen Longganisa This rice cake (kakanin in Tagalog) is stuffed with latik or caramelized young coconut, steamed and wrapped in fresh banana leaf.
  • Pancit Cabagan is The dish is characterized by its unique combination of ingredients, such as thick rice noodles, pork, shrimp, vegetables, and a savory sauce.
  • Patupat is wrapped in buri bags or coconut leaves woven into a small bag. It consist of kaning malagkit (sticky rice) and sugar cane.
  • Tugi is a root tuber from vine plant with heart-shaped leaves. The root tuber is similar in size to a long kamote with thin plastic like skin.
  • Pawa is a gastronomic icon of Piat, Cagayan, is a sweet delicacy made of glutinous rice, grounded peanuts, and muscovado. Pawa is a word of Chinese origin, meaning "to wrap".
