  • What are psychometrics in research?
Psychometrics are batteries of tests that help us to justify whether the findings are useful within research. Psychometrics include testing of validity and reliability.
  • Validity examines the extent to which an instrument measures what it seeks to measure. A valid research of stress measures stress scores, and avoids using other tests that are unrelated to stress.
  • Reliability is the ability of a measure to produce similar results under the same conditions. A reliable test of stress would attain consistent results under different tests, whilst maintaining the same testing condition throughout.
