  • duties of the cqc:

    -registers and licenses care services to ensure essential standards of quality and safety are met
    -carries out inspections of health and social care settings to monitor that the care provided continues to meet the standards requires
    -publishes inspection reports rating care settings from 'outstanding' to 'inadequate
    -can issue warning notices and fines if standards aren't being met
