Parts of a Circle

• Circle - collection of points that is equidistant from the center.
• A circle is named after its center.
• Center - point of the circle
• Radius - a line segment that starts at the center.
• Half of a diameter is radius.
• Chord - joins two points on a circle
• Diameter - divides the circle into two parts.
• Circumference - distance around the circle
• Arc - part of the circumference
• Semicircle - arc that divided the circle into two parts
• Minor arc - less than a semi circle
• Major arc - arc more than a semicircle.
• Central angle - determined by 2 radii on the circle
• Inscribed angle - determined by two chords
