• Limitations of Macroarrays:

  Area of substrate material and membrane

  Volume of hybridization solution

  Testing for only one gene product
• Uses treated glass “chip” instead of niyrocellulose or nylons. Ten of thousands of targets can be screen in a small area using only small amounts of samply simultaneously. Makes use of automated arrayers.

  Microarrays
• Dna Microarray: Gray

  Not present in cells
• Dna Microarray: Green


  In normal cells only
• Dna Microarray: Yellow

  Present in both cells
• Dna Microarray: Red

  In pathological cells only
