  • The primary characteristics are visible from birth. These characteristics are diffrent for boys and girls.
  • Puberty is when girl develops into a women and a boy develops into a man. During this time, secondary characteristics develop and a bigger difference between male and female is present. Gender hormones cause both internal and external differences for the body and make you sexually mature.
  • The primary external characteristics of a boy are the penis and scrotum.
  • The primary external characteristics of a girl are the labia and the genital opening.

  • A girl starts to produce more oestrogen, when she is 11 years old.

  • Homosexuality is somthing that has existed for a long time. It's a natural phenomenon that appears frequently with multiple animal species.
  • During puberty you produce more hormones, have a bigger libido, you change physically, sexually, emotionally and socially. You're hormones increase your libido (desire for sex), this can lead to experiment with yourself, mastrubation. You can also feel attraced to diffrent 'types' of people, genderfluidity.
  • The seminal vesicles produces seminal fluid that is addes first to the sperm.
  • Prostate produces seminal fluid and regulates the transit of urine or sperm.
  • Cowper glans takes care of the production of pre-fluid so that the urethra is less acidic and sperm friendly.
  • Epididymis takes care of the ripening of sperm and temporary storage.
  • Scrotum protects the testicles and maintains a good temprature for sperm production. (35°C)
  • Testicles produce sperm and testosterone.
  • Foreskin protectes glans.
  • Glans detect sexual stimuli.
  • Penis is able to insert sperm into the vagina while in erection.
  • Urethra transports urine or sperm outwards.
  • Erectile tissue make the penis have an erection.
  • Spermatic cord transports sperm away from the epididymis.
  • In erection the prostate regulates the urogenital tube so that there is only room for sperm.
  • Semen is sperm + seminal fluid and milky white.
  • When the erectile tissue fills with blood, the penis goes in erection. During, ejaculation, sperm is being transported through the spermatic cords. When you add seminal fluid from the seminal vesicles and prostate, semen is being formed. The prostate regulates the transit of sperm or urine through the urethra.
  • In the ovary the ovum is ripening and the ovary produces oestrogen and progesterone.
  • The cervix closes the womb and only opens during childbirth.
  • The vagina produces vaginal fluid, protects aiganst phatogens, disposes of blood during menstruation and catches sperm during sexual intercourse.
  • The fmbriae catches a matured ovum during ovulation.
  • The fallopian tube transports the ovum toward the uterus. Fertilisation happens here.
  • The fertilised ovum goes down the uterus into the endometrium and lets it develop into a baby that will born by contractions.
  • The clitoris detects sexual stimuli.
  • The labia protects the genital opening.
