  • Telecommunications - Electronic exchange of any type of data with variety of information transmitting technologies and systems.
  • Bandwidth - The capacity of data that can be transmitted in a given amount of time.
  • Latency - The time taken for a message to travel from the sender to the receiver.
  • Signal Bouncing - The receiver of a wireless signal can bounce the signal back to the transmitter.
  • Token - Frame of data transmitted between network points, used to identify the sender and receiver of a message.
  • Terminator - Device attached to end-points of bus/daisy-chain network. Purpose is to absorb signals so do not reflect back down the line.
  • Signal Reflection - The reflection of a signal from a boundary between two different media.
  • Transmission Medium - Communication channel that transmits information from the source/transmitter to the receiver.
