Life in the Palace

• To make sure that Siddhartha a never saw suffering the king kept Siddhartha in the royal palace for all his life
• Siddhartha had everything he could have ever imagined in the palace
• Siddhartha had lots of riches and material items
• Siddhartha also participated in many activities like sports and arts in the palace
• Any servants who showed signs of suffering were removed from the palace
• By protecting his son from witnessing anything negative the king believed he would remove Siddharthas temptation to see the real world
• The king hid Siddhartha to make sure he would become a king like him not a spritiual leader
