• Test for Starch

  Adding iodine, Orange -> Blue/Black
• Test for Reducing Sugars

  Benedicts reagent + heat, Blue -> Green -> Yellow -> Orange -> Red
• Test for Non-Reducing Sugars

  Add acid and boil (acid hydrolysis), cool and add alkaline to neutralise, add Benedicts reagent and heat, Blue -> Red
• Test for Lipids

  Dissolve sample in ethanol, add distilled water, Positive = Cloudy emulsion
• Test for Proteins

  Add Biuret solution, shake, Positive = Purple
