What the HSE can do

• Visit the Workplace


  The HSE can visit the workplace at any time without reason to carry out a H&S inspection.
• Issue an Informal Warning


  Issue an informal warning, verbally or in writing, to the employer/organisation if a breach of legislation is discovered.
• Issue an Improvement Notice


  Issue an improvement notice which requires that any breach of legislation is corrected within a specific time period.
• Shut down premises without notice.
• Fines/Prosecutions


  Fine or prosecute the company or individuals.
