• epidermal tissue covers the whole plant
• epidermal tissue are covered with waxy cuticle to help water loss from transpiration
• palisade mesophyll tissue is where photosynthesis happens
• the palisade has lots of chloroplasts so they get the most light
• spongy mesophyll tissue contain big air spaces to let gas diffuse in and out
• meristem tissue is found in the tips of shoots and roots and is able to differentiate into any type of plant cell
