  He was crushed and weighed down by the thought of being separated from God and bearing the sins of men

• Peter said that he would never leave Jesus no matter what happened
• Jesus told Peter, "before this night is over you will deny me three times before the rooster crows two times"

  1. Jesus went further into the garden and asked the disciples to watch and pray

  3. Jesus was so filled with anguish he sweated what looked like drops of blood

  4. Jesus asked his father to take away the 'cup' which signified the suffering he would have to bear

  5. Jesus prayed a final prayer and said to his father in heaven 'not my will but, your will be done!'
