  • Henry failed to follow it with a full-scale Scottish invasion following the battle of Solway Moss as henry’s main interests was military glory in France again at the end of his reign.
  • “Rough wooing” policy, Scots refused to marry Mary and Henry’s son Edward due to suspicions of intent.
  • Children declared to be betrothed in Treaty of Greenwich in 1543 which said Mary would be raised in England, fell apart, Scots refused!
  • 1545 = Battle of Ancrum Moor, Scotland won, failure of the rough wooing.
